The 2025 season officially kicks off this Saturday, and our Coastal Carolina Chanticleers are heading into ACC country to battle the Virginia Cavaliers under the lights at Scott Stadium. This isn’t just another opener—it’s a chance for Coastal to prove, once again, that teal travels and that we belong on the biggest stages.

New QB, Same Swagger: All eyes are on MJ Morris, the NC State/Maryland transfer who now leads our offense. He’s mobile, he’s got a big arm, and he’s stepping into a system that loves to attack.

The Cavaliers at a Glance
Virginia went 5–7 last year and is still trying to climb out of the middle of the ACC. They’ve got a solid new quarterback in Chandler Morris, and playing at home gives them confidence. But let’s not act like UVA is unbeatable—they’ve got questions on the O-line and injuries in the secondary. If Coastal punches early, this crowd could get nervous fast.
