The latest Publix supermarket to open in the Grand Strand is slated to debut at the end of November. Coventry Marketplace on Wood Duck Drive will soon welcome Publix shoppers when the supermarket chain's latest store opens on November 30 at 7 am. According to the grocer's website, the soon-to-debut Myrtle Beach will be the seventh location in the local area. It also will mark the second Publix to open in November, with the most recent debuting in the Carolina Forest area earlier this month. Other Publix stores are located in North Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach, Murrells Inlet, and Pawleys Island. Publix shoppers who visit the new location in the Coventry Marketplace shopping center will find a store that features a bakery, deli, produce section, seafood selection, meats and cheeses, as well as floral options. In addition, a Publix Pharmacy, Wine & Beer, and Publix Catering will also be offered at the upcoming location. The first Publix Food Store was established in 1930 and, just ten years later, expanded into a full-blown supermarket. Today, Publix boasts a huge following of fans spread far and wide. The privately and employee-owned chain has become a destination for a personal and slightly upscale shopping experience that is frequented for its famous made-in-house subs, take-home soups, deli meats, as well as sushi and live cooking demonstrations.
