The annual Harvest Home Weekend is quickly approaching. Originally scheduled for October 1 and 2, Brookgreen Gardens rescheduled their popular fall festival following the impact of Hurricane Ian in the local area. Now, Brookgreen's Annual Harvest Home Weekend Festival is slated for Saturday, October 8, and Sunday, October 9. Admission is free with garden admission, and Brookgreen Garden members may also enter at no cost. Hours for the program are 9:30 am to 4:00 pm on both days. Attendees can expect to find family-friendly fall activities like a hay maze, pumpkin patch, pumpkin painting and a scarecrow-making area. Pumpkins to decorate can be purchased for $5 for small pumpkins and $9 for large ones. Furthermore, individually prepared scarecrow-making kits will be available while supplies last, or attendees can also bring their own supplies from home. You can also take your scarecrow home for $5! Providing entertainment for Brookgreen's Annual Harvest Home Weekend Festival is Alabama Theater's Greg Rowles, along with other entertainers performing throughout the day. You'll also be well-fed at the event, with food vendors Let's Ride BBQ, EZ Cheezy, and Kona Ice on-site, as well as the Harvest Restaurant, the Old Kitchen and The Courtyard Cafe open.
